He Youzai NPC Location Guide

A friend you and your sister made while escaping the tragedy of Bai Mansion. He feels like he should help you after your sister died and embarks to Shu after you send him a letter telling him you knew how to ressurect Bai Yu. Over the course of the game, he gathers information about the ressurrection and often gives you rare and valuable items for healing. He eventually starts to be affected by the Feathering, affectng his memory, but is taken care of by Fang Yao.

SPOILERS!
In both the true and good endings, he and Fang Yao give you what is needed in order to teleport to the secret area where you defeat the final boss. In the good ending, however, you use the item (the Samsara ring) after defeating the boss, thus changing the end of the story.

**NOTE: TO COMPLETE HE YOUZAI'S QUESTLINE, YOU MUST ALWAYSEXHAUST ALL HIS DIALOGUEBEFORE MOVING ON.

1. He Youzai will call out to you when you approach him outside of Reverent Temple. He tells you you had written to him about your sister Bai Yu. He says he will go gather information and meet you later. He gives you a Bamboo Lantern and a Cornucopia Elixir.

2. Near the exit of the caves below Buddha Cliffs, you will find a Lost Package. Take it.

3. You meet He Youzai again at the entrance of Doomwillow Beach. He's a bit lost and down as he has lost some of his stuff. Give him the Lost Package and he will give you the Pirate Set armor, a Cornucopia Elixir, and Records of the Southern Archipelago.

4. After the fight with Commander Honglan, you will see He Youzai at Reverent Temple . Talk to him and he will tell you to go to Cloudspire next. He will also give you Everland Brew and Cured Jerky.

5.At Snowpeak Pass, he will appear again, saying he somehow found himself trapped by the people there. He will give you a Cornucopia Elixir.

6. In the 5th Basement floor of the Shaft, you can show He Youzai Research Journal 1 and the Mad Doctor's Research Notes for Cured Jerky.

7. Once on Mt Zhenwu, a bit before the Refugee's Camp, you will find He Youzai with Fang Yao. It seems like he saved her after she had learned of Fang Ling's death. Fang Yao remarks that his memory seems hazy and that he is weakening. He tells you not to worry and that you search around the temple while he checks out Bai Mansion for clues that will help resurrect Bai Yu.

8.Near the shrine of Bai Mansion, you will find He Youzai there, condition obviously worsened. Talking to him enables him as an ally you can call upon fighting Monstrous Toddler - Bai Kru.

9. After the battle, you can show He Youzai, Research Journal - Scrap 2.

10. When you return to Worship's Rise in Ch 4, you will wake up at the Annalum. Right outside the building where you are, are both He Youzai and Fang Yao. He Youzai says that he will go to Reverent Temple to continue searching for clues.

11. When you arrive at Reverent Temple, talk to Fang Yao. Keep talking to her until you receive Research Journal - Scrap 3 and Ring of Samsara - Cause.

12.Talk to He Youzai and give him the Research Journal. He will in turn give you the Ring of Samsara - Effect.

13. You'll see He Youzai for the last time when you go south of where you wake up in the Bo Capital. He looks worse for wear. He even has trouble recognizing you. He gives you Bai Yu's memento, the Belled Pinwheel and theTwirl the Pinwheelemote. If you enter the dream after meeting him, he will disappear.
