Matchstick NPC Location Guide

Matchstick will not join the Great Yonder Gang later on if he is not brought an item from his grandmother before going to Mt. Zhenwu. Given that he stays with them, his fate will depend on what you choose to tell the Madam of Snowfall Palace.

The Walkthrough may contain story spoilers.

1. Matchstick 1. is initially in one of the houses at Clouspire City. He will not be willing to talk to you unless you have joined the Great Yonder Gang first.
   
   
2. 2. Join the Great Yonder gang by talking to Shen Jing'an.
   
   
3. 3. Matchstick will now be willing to talk to you. He will give you theCelebrateemote and the Great Yonder Tiger Cap. He will talk about how he is worried about his grandmother.
   
   
4. 4. Depending on whether you give Matchstick the Vitality Bowl now, he will either stay at the house or go to Cloudspire Outskirts to look for his grandmother.
   
   
5. 5. In order to get the Vitality Bowl, you must talk to Matchstick's grandmother at Mort Grotto. If you do not give Matchstick the bowl before going to Mt Zhenwu, he will no longer appear.
   
   
6. 6. Talk to Shen Yanping and he will request that you find his Madam's Wedding Attire.
   
   
7. 7. Ask Shen Jing'an about the Wedding Attire. She will admit that she has it but will exchange it for looking for her missing comrade Glut.
   
   
8. 8. Go to Cloudspire Bazaar to find Glut.
   
   
9. 9. Once you get the Wedding Attire from Shen Jing'an, return to Shen Yanping. He will reward you and tell you to present the item to his Madam.
   
   
10. 10. When you go report to Huang Yan (DO NOT go and fight the boss Mistress of the Night yet),
    
    SPOILER!
    
    If you choose "Tell her of the Butler's betrayal.", that will end the questline by going back to the house they were all in. Huang Yan will have both the butler and the gang members killed. You can return to the house where they are and obtain the Butler Shen's Set armor, Glut's Token, and Matchstick's Token.
    
    If you choose "Feign Ignorance", the Gang will survive.
    
    
11. 11. When at the Refugee Camp, talk to Matchstick. Talk to Shen Jing'an, and she informs you that her father is heavily sick. Agree to help her, else end the questline.
    
    
12. 12. After defeating Liu Wenxiu, you will obtain the True Origin Pill. Give this to Shen Jing'an to heal her father.
    
    
13. 13. After entering the dream once, interact with Shen Jing'an again and she will tell you that her father has recovered.
    
    
14. 14. Once you have defeated Zhang Xianzhong, you can go over to Ferry Overlook and find Shen Jing'an looking for Glut and Matchstick.
    
    
15. 15. Go to this area in the Avian Marsh. Defeat the enemy there and you will obtain Glut's Token and Matchstick's Token. This implies that while going through this area, they were killed.
    
    
16. 16. Give the tokens to Shen Jing'an and say goodbye to her and her father.
