How to Start A Knife in the Dark
Murder an innocent person, then go to sleep.
A Knife in the Dark Objectives
・Lucien Lachance, a Dark Brotherhood Speaker, approaches you and offers to let you join their family if you kill someone.
・Find and kill Rufio at the Inn of Ill Omen, north of Bravil.
・Sleep in a secured location, then talk to Lucien for your next instructions.
・Head to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Cheydinhal and answer "Sanguine, my Brother" to gain entrance.
・Speak with Ocheeva to officially become a part of the Dark Brotherhood.
A Knife in the Dark Notes
・Don't worry about your responses when talking to Lucien at the start, they won't impact the quest.
・You can make use of Lucien's gift, the "Blade of Woe", to kill your target.
・Rufio is in the Private Quarters of the Inn of Ill Omen. To get there, use the Trap Door on your left after entering the Inn.
・You can sleep on Rufio's bed after killing him to be able to talk to Lucien again.
・The Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary is located inside the Abandoned House in Cheydinhal.
