IMPORTANCE OF FOOD AND WATER IN SUBNAUTICA 2
Food and water are only important when you are in survival mode or hardcore mode. In survival mode, you will get hungry and thirsty while you explore. When your hunger and thirst levels reach zero, you will continuously lose health and die. If you do not want to manage these stats, choose creative mode or freedom mode.
HOW TO UNLOCK DIGESTION ADAPTATION
"Local flora and fauna can now be safely digested." The "Digestion" is the adaptation that you need to unlock so that you can easily get food resources from the creatures you can find to satisfy your hunger.
Unlock the digestion adaptation by interacting with the purple organism, Angel Comb.
HOW TO FARM FOR FOOD RESOURCE
You can get plenty of moon-type fish near the spawn area. This includes halfmoon, harvestmoon, and bluemoon. You can cook these fish in the fabricator.
Shortly after, you can also get salt and lead to make Sugar of Saturn. Use the sonic resonator to harvest faster from large crystals.

HOW TO FARM WATER RESOURCE
You can get plenty of water slugs in areas where light hits and in the sandy areas. Bring the water slugs to the fabricator to craft water. Now you have something to restore 40 units of hydration.
