Slaying the Hero Josée - Part 1 Guide
Slaying the Hero Josée - Part 1 Quest Summary
Your goal here is to wake and slay the hero, Josée. As you move forward on this quest, you get to know a little about her and the people who support her.
Slaying the Hero Josée - Part 1 Walkthrough
Find the hero Josée's cocoon.
When you arrive at the Sunken City, Lou will tell you a little bit about Josée, the hero who saved a group of survivors during the Resurgence.
At the end of the bridge, you reach the Outlook cemetery. You will encounter an elderly revenant whose mind has been scalded by Luna Rapacis. It seems that he hates you, but no fight happens. You are safe. He also mentions Josée's name. Talk to him to know more about the hero.
Then go down the stairs. There is nothing to get there while you go down, so you won't miss anything. When you reach the bottom of the stairs, you will arrive at the Refugee Village.
At the village, make sure to pick up the Pure Platinum 1 on the left side. Then you can activate the nearby mistle. You can also talk to Jadwiga's Minion nearby.
Fight three (3) mobs and then you will reach the next mistle for the Eastern Gatehouse Ruins. This is the perfect place if you want to get the Dexterity Booster - Overload and Victory LP. Once you have collected the materials for these, you can go to Jadwiga and buy them.
| Booster | Traits | Materials | Haze Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dexterity Booster - Overload | Dexterity +5 | ・Decayed Revenant Brain x 1 ・Decayed Revenant Blood Cells x 1 ・Decayed Revenant Eye x 4 ・Decayed Revenant Fang x 4 | 4000 |
| Victory LP | LP Restored Upon Defeating Enemies | ・Deformed Ape Brain x 1 ・Deformed Ape Heart x 2 ・Deformed Ape Horn x 3 ・Deformed Ape Tail x 3 | 4000 |
The three (3) mobs you previously fought drop the needed materials for the Dexterity Booster. And as for the Victory LP, you will farm it from the incoming big beast, the Ape. Anyone up for cheese strats? I'm here for you. Notice this gate over here?
Yes, this gate is your protection. You can attack him at a long range while he's far enough. And when he slams himself, dodge and attack with all your might!
If you want to skip this Ape, you can just run to the right (Eastern Gatehouse Ruins) while he's far away.
Continue on your way, and you will soon arrive at Josée's Outpost and a mistle is nearby. This is where her cocoon is located.
JOSÉE'S OUTPOST
At Josée Outpost, continue forward inside, and you will see an elevator to the left outside. Then you will immediately spot a Revival Point as you walk out of the elevator. Make your way down, but be careful of the mobs around. You'll eventually see a ladder where you can spot a mistle. Pick up the Stinger. You can go left or right. Either way, you'll end up with the boss fight.
Meet the Mutated Survivor Bernd.
This boss is nowhere near as hard as Frantz. You can attack him from afar, not needing to worry about him instantly teleporting to you like Frantz. If you have Noah, you can easily shoot the boss while he attacks Noah.
This boss is fast but leaves a huge opening when he jumps and slams all his swords on the ground. Use this chance to hit him. It's better to use a fast-attacking weapon (I mainly use Dual Blades).
You can parry his attacks, but because he's fast, it's safer to dodge. Parry can be used when you have the Mutinous Bracer equipped. And if you do use it, you'll have a huge opening.
Once you defeat Bernd, Lou tells you about the pathos ahead. Interact with it. A cutscene will start, a memory of Bernd's happier days with Josée.
It opens the path where there are two elevators. It doesn't matter which one you choose. Up the elevator is where the cocoon is located. You'll then see the bond that will take you to the past.
