Mastering Control of Time Quest Summary
In your quest to help Lou master her ability of Time Travel, you form a bond with Noah. You help him accomplish all Valentin's requests.
Mastering Control of Time Walkthrough
[1] Rescue Noah's companion.
As you go through this quest, you will learn the following terms:

| Partner | A Partner fights alongside you. They have Link Traits. |
| Link Traits | Link Traits are beneficial effects that are only active once your bond with them is strong. |
| Travel Path | This will help explore the place. The recent path shows as orange, and the older one shows up as blue. |
| Mistles | Mistles are rest spots that fully restore your HP, LP, ichor, and regeneration. It is also your revival point. |
| Confluence | At the Mistle, you can enter the Confluence where you can meet with Lou. |
| Bloodthirst | Bloodthirst makes the enemy attack the player and also heal the white portion of its HP gauge. |
| Guarding | Defensive formae that reduces the enemy's attacks while activated. |
The path is linear so you don't have to worry. You will then learn about quick items to light the path on your way to Noah's friend.
A cutscene will then appear. The man who was just stabbed and acts like nothing happened is Valentin Voda. He wants you to join his research.
[2] Travel to the MagMell of the Past.
Travel with Noah to the MagMell of the Past. It's time to learn more terms!

| Map Jammers | Defeat the map jammers to reveal the surrounding area. It appears as blinking circles on the map except for dungeons. |
| Weapon formae | Weapon formae allows you to perform powerful attacks and trigger effects. It consumes ichor. It can be set at a mistle. |
| Bleeding and Drain Attacks | Injured enemies will suffer from bleed buildup. The greater the buildup, the more ichor is restored from the drain attack. |
| Mistle | You can level up your character here. |
Again, the path is linear. As you're about to step outside, make sure to activate the Mistle before the bridge. And then you can level up your character.
You will have plenty of enemies to defeat. The path after that is the grassy field.
Before reaching the next mistle, you will find a Golden Nectar along the way. Golden Nectars are useful for enhancing your regenerative ability.
If you want to level up some more, you can farm the two enemies that will spawn every time you rest at the MagMell Island Central Area mistle.
[3] Speak to Valentin.
There are excavation sites that he wants you to help with.
This unlocks two (2) quests you can do:
・Motorcycle mechanic's request
・Builder's request
You can freely choose which one you would like to do first.
Before you go, you can explore Magmell. It has different areas you might need:
・Weapons shop
・Trade
・Tools shop
・Adjust Appearance
・ Hot Spring
・Training Grounds
・Transform Weapon, Transform Defensive Forma, Extract Booster
・Upgrade Weapon, Enhance Forma, Enhance Jail
[4A] Motorcycle's Mechanic's Request
Go to the ruins marked on your map. Make sure to activate the mistle there. (It should now be your first priority whenever you see one.) Talk to the motorcycle mechanic.

Explore the southern ruins to find a forma that enhances the power of formae. The mechanic needs it for the forma-powered motorcycle.
You will then enter the dungeon on the right side when facing the mechanic. Coming out on the other side, you will be on the open area where you can unlock the map.
Then up the slope, you'll see a Resurrection Monument. It's a revival point.
You will enter a boss fight here.
Behold, Edward the Lost Corporal!
This boss has basic attacks that are easy to deal with.
You mostly need to watch out when he raises his hand while glowing red. This means that he will unleash his AOE attack. He releases red orbs that fall around him. Back away when he raises his hand.
[6A] Report to the motorcycle mechanic.
This unlocks the Return Monument which is a quick way to return to the entrance of a cave or other location.
[4B] Builder's request
Talk to the bridge builder to officially begin this quest. He wants to connect MagMell Island to the mainland. It's up to you to help him. You need to search the Water Treatment Plant for a forma to enhance the strength of objects.

Enter the Water Treatment Plant.

| Back Attacks | This attack can easily stagger an enemy. Crouching makes it harder for the enemy to detect you. |
The path is very straightforward. Just make sure to check your minimap to know which places you went to.
When you see the Resurrection Monument, you know. It's time for a boss a fight.
You'll meet Resurgence Abomination!
Unlike Edward, this boss has faster moves. You need to watch out for his long-range and AOE attacks.
LONG-RANGE ATTACK
His long-range is a big red slash. You can dodge to the side to be safe.
AOE ATTACK
His AOE is a large red circle around him. Back away from his AOE. Dodge backward to avoid it once he slams it (yes, my catboy got hit).
His other attacks can be easily dodged, and you can hit him right after dodging.
[6B] Report to the bridge builder
This ends the request, and you can use the Return Monument to go back to the dungeon entrance.
[7] Valentin's Request
Once you're done with both requests, you can Fast Travel to MagMell to talk to Valentin. A sudden cutscene will appear. You enter Noah's memory and find out what he is and how he ended up with Valentin. After the scene, Valentin's request is clear.
[8] Report to Valentin.
He gives you the key to the tower.
[9] Travel to the forma storage tower.
Near the mistle on the 2nd floor, you can immediately get the Pathos-Weaving Forma that lets Lou master her ability. As you take it, an attack can be heard from outside. Noah immediately goes after them. Here, Lou tells you that Noah will die in this attack. As you try to go after Noah, Lavinia interferes. This unlocks the next quest, Timeline Shift Decision: Noah.
